Farasha Osman

Farasha Osman likes people calling her Pacha. Born in Negeri Sembilan and raised in Johor, she lives in Petaling Jaya with her mother, her husband, Adrian and her daughter, Bali.
Pacha paints compulsively, recording her memories, feelings and daydreams freely on the canvas like a teenager writing a diary. Her stories are about happiness and the simple joys of life. She tells stories about sunbathers she saw during her honeymoon with Adrian in Nusa Dua and of childhood holidays spent with her grandparents in Lenggeng playing around the kampong house or evening rides in Granddad’s Morris Minor.
Entirely self taught and uninhibited, Pacha allows the viewer of her paintings a front row look into her family, her home and herself. Her artwork uses a brave mix of material and media, blending acrylic with ink, graphite, self-adhesive labels and even bitumen.
Pacha also writes lyrics for songs. She wrote the words for many songs sung by Sheila Majid and Dayang Nurfaizah.
In 2004 Pacha won Second Prize in the Bank Negara Art Award for her painting “Imperfect but Beautiful”.
